Dalya

Dalya Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 25, 2026

Dalya helps you find a good time for something you want to do. You describe it, Dalya checks your calendar and suggests a time, and you add it with one tap.

Dalya is built so your information stays on your device. There are no Dalya accounts and no Dalya servers. Dalya does not collect, sell, or share your personal information, and it does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.

This policy explains what Dalya uses, why, and the few times something leaves your device.

What Dalya uses, and where it stays

Your calendar. Dalya uses your events (their times, titles and places) to find free time, show your day, and learn how you usually schedule things. This happens on your device, through Apple’s calendar system, and your calendar is never copied anywhere else.

Your contacts (optional). If you plan something at a person’s place, like “dinner at Sam’s,” Dalya can look up that person’s address in your contacts. It only asks for permission the first time you need it, and it only reads names and addresses. To show the place on the map, Dalya looks up the address (not the name) with Apple Maps. Nothing else from your contacts leaves your device.

Your microphone (optional). When you tap the microphone, Dalya turns what you say into text. Speech recognition happens entirely on your device. Dalya does not record or keep audio.

Notifications (optional). If you turn on weather alerts in Settings, Dalya checks the forecast for your upcoming outdoor plans now and then, even when the app isn’t open, and shows a notification on your device if an official weather alert applies. These checks send the same rounded location as any other forecast (see below). The notifications are created on your device; nothing is pushed to it from a server.

Your location (optional). Dalya uses your location to find places near you when you type one in, and to check the weather for outdoor plans. Dalya only asks for location while you’re using the app, and it never tracks your location in the background.

Understanding what you type. Dalya reads your request (for example, “coffee with Ana sometime next week, mornings”) with its own logic and, on supported devices, Apple’s on-device language model. Both run on your device. Your request is not sent to Dalya, Apple, or anyone else to be interpreted.

Things Dalya learns. To get better over time, Dalya remembers some things on your device: your working hours and settings, places you’ve used before, how you usually schedule certain activities, what you mean by words like “evening,” your event tags, and a simple count of how well it understood your requests. All of this is stored only in the app’s own storage on your device. It is removed when you delete Dalya.

Shared text, Shortcuts and Siri. When you share text to Dalya or ask it to find a time through Shortcuts or Siri, Dalya handles the request on your device, the same as it does inside the app.

When information leaves your device

Dalya needs outside services for a few features. In each case only what the feature needs is sent, and nothing is sent to Dalya.

Place search (Apple Maps). When you type a place, like “Blue Bottle,” or plan something at a friend’s address from your contacts, Dalya searches Apple Maps to find it, using your approximate area to show nearby results. Apple handles these searches under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Weather (Apple Weather). For outdoor plans, Dalya gets a forecast from Apple Weather. It sends only a location rounded to about one kilometer (never an exact address) and the time range of the forecast. No name, account, or calendar details are included. Apple handles these requests under the Apple Privacy Policy.

Invites you send in Messages. If you send a plan to someone through Dalya’s Messages app, the message contains the event’s title, time, and place (if you added one). It goes only to the people in that conversation, through Apple’s Messages. Dalya does not see or keep a copy.

Your choices

Children

Dalya is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If Dalya’s handling of your information changes, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s update notes.
